In fact, I just raised the issue to our web team last week. So far, there is no new solution proposed to resolve this issue. The installer file names are intentionally kept the same to facilitate updates and involve as few teams as possible during releases. So, I'll offer two solutions: 1. I have just updated this player page to contain version numbers for the latest releases. https://player.helixcommunity.org/ You only have to download it if your local version is different from the version number listed. Once you have downloaded one of the packages, you can use "rpm -qp RealPlayer11GOLD.rpm" or "dpkg -I RealPlayer11GOLD.deb" to double-check the version numbers. 2. The usual (and existing) mechanism to check for an update is through: Help Menu / Check for Updates... Hope these mechanisms are adequate for you. Regards, -- Daniel Yek.
