Dear list,

I downloaded this player because I wanted to play an asf stream which

I am unable to play with many other Linux players like vlc, mplayer,

xine, ...etc. I think something has gone awry with all the plugins
I have installed, and perhaps I broke one or more ... Not sure what...

Well, I was duly disappointed that Helix is also incapable of playing asf streams :(

It pops out a banner saying

Error

Unsupported document type. (http://208.64.66.12:1200/islamexplained/media/truth/tt095_L.wmv?MSWMExt=.asf)

ASF container file format is supported in this plugin:
/opt/real/RealPlayer/plugins/asfff.so

It is something else that isn't supported.

With a RealPlayer for Netbook build from 310Atlas branch, I'm getting:
General error: HXR_XML_SYNTAX.

I didn't spend time investigating it, so I don't know if the stream is 
not generated properly or Helix ASF plugin needs more work to support 
this stream. You can subscribe and post to datatype-dev mailing list or 
file a bug against datatype project and include the URL in the bug 
report for them to investigate into it more.
