Hi Drikus -
We would love to have a localized version in Afrikaans. Thanks for the
offer! Do you have translation experience?
We are a small team and have to make sure that the translations are up
to a certain quality standard before we can include them in our download
package. The way we do this is to have community member work with other
open-source translators to make sure the localization is of the highest
quality. The KDE, GNOME, and Firefox translation teams have been great
about helping out in the past for RealPlayer translations.
After the translation has been passed by the open-source community, we
verify the translation internally. If it passes, we include it in our
download. It costs us money to verify translations, so we can't verify
it multiple times if many errors are found.
My recommendation is that you download the Localization Kit from the
RealPlayer localization page
(https://player.helixcommunity.org/2005/l10n/) and translate the
Glossary first. We can quickly go through the glossary and give you an
idea of whether we'd be able to include your work in our download package.

Hi Drikus -
I'll be out of the office for a week, so please email the entire
localization team at player-l10n@lists.helixcommunity.org if you have
questions or finish translating the glossary. Other people on that list
should be able to move forward on this without my presence.
The technical descriptions are definitely the most difficult part of
localization - making sure you get the right word is really important.
It might help to ask your questions of other open-source Linux Afrikaans
translators, like the KDE localization team:

Subject: [Player-l10n] Swedish translation of Helix Player

Hi all,
Here is the Swedish translation for the Helix Player.
Please note that I'm not 100% sure about the translation of the LICENSE
file since I'm not a lawyer or similar. The text clearly says that you
own this and that, no warranty and so on. I'm not 100% sure about the
legal terms but I used some of the terms from the GPL translation.
All files are UTF-8 encoded. This should be normal.
