[hxplay] Community get-together at CES?

I would like to propose a strict unofficial player/client helix
community get-together for a few drinks and a bit of discussion at CES
in January.

This year's CES is January 8-11, 2004 in Las Vegas at the convention
center once again. I know that Real will once again have a presence at
the show and I thought that perhaps a bunch of us, both those who work
for Real and those who do not could meet and have some informal
discussions. I know that in the 2 times that I have been to Real, the
most recent having been a few days ago, it has benefited everyone
involved in the discussion to have real-time feedback to the
presentation of ideas.

So, in that spirit, I am proposing a meeting of all those who are
interested to do just that - get together, have a few drinks and just
chat. Depending on the amount of people interested we could meet at a
bar, or in a room somewhere, or perhaps even at Real's booth if they are
so inclined (and have booze handy).

I would propose the meeting be late afternoon on Friday January 9th.
The reason for this date is that there are likely football playoffs on
the 10th and the 11th that will be encompassing everyone - they
certainly did last year - the HDTV bar was overflowing! Also on
Thursday night, being the first night of the show, there are the most
parties, which everyone will want to go to. Friday morning and early
afternoon everyone will be nursing their hangovers from Thursday and
Friday night everyone will want to be going out again, so Late Friday
afternoon seems like a good time to propose.

Is anyone interested?

Regards,
Warren
