Summary: RLINK decreases player download size by 20%
Project: player

Followers of Helix Community nightly builds may have noticed a substantial
reduction in size of the latest Linux Helix Player and RealPlayer nightlies.

This change is due to the hard work of David Hedbor and Fredrik Hubinette.
David adapted a tool called rlink for use on Linux, based on earlier work
by Fredrik. rlink optimizes the players by more aggressively removing
unused code.

The result? RealPlayer nightly builds have gone from 6 MB to a slim 4.9 MB!

See for yourself at our nightly builds page,
