We are happy to announce the release of RealPlayer 10.0.1 and Helix 
Player 1.0.1 in their final (gold) versions. The players are now 
localised <https://player.helixcommunity.org/2004/l10n/index.html> and 
have support for the following languages (apart from English):
* Brazilian Portuguese
* French
* German
* Spanish
* Italian
* Japanese
* Korean
* Simplified Chinese
* Traditional Chinese

The players are available for download via the Helix Player Project 
<https://player.helixcommunity.org/2004/downloads/> site. The RealPlayer 
is also available from http://www.real.com/linux , Real's consumer website.

Basic Features of the players:
- Gtk+/Gnome interface
- Accelerated Video and FullScreen Playback
- Support for free and open mediatypes - Ogg Vorbis/Theora, H261
- Mozilla browser plug-in
- RTSP streaming
- Elegant UI
- Installer and RPM packages
- Localized in 9 languages

RealPlayer 10 for Linux adds the following features:
- RealAudio 10 / RealVideo 10
- MP3,
- Flash playback
- More robust RTSP via RDT

You can find binary installers, rpm packages and binary tarballs of the 
players in the player project download area 
<https://player.helixcommunity.org/2004/downloads/>. The Helix Player is 
now under the GPL (GNU General Public License) and you can download the 
source tarballs from the same area. Packages for other distributions and 
Operating Systems (Gentoo, Debian, BeOS etc.), ports to other 
architectures and platforms (PowerPC, Solaris (Sparc), Solaris-x86, MIPS 
etc.) are underway in the community. We are also on the verge of 
releasing localized versions of the player in nine languages - an event 
that is (by the number of volunteers coming this way) anticipated with 
much enthusiasm.

This is most likely the last major release in the 10.x and the 1.x 
versioning. The next steps are to focus on the feature set for the 11.x 
and the 2.x versions of the player. Feel free to file feature requests 
(if not filed already) in the player issue tracker (under the Feature 
Requests tracker) and/or in the General forum (under the feature 
requests thread).
We would like to recieve your feedback on the player and 
suggestions/requests for the future versions. While we strongly 
recommend using the mailing lists and/or the forums for this purpose, we 
also welcome direct feedback on the usability of the player.
