I am a developer, looking for the right tool to purchase. Real has so many
tools, I'm not sure which is the right one.

I am writing a Visual Basic app to control remote Encoder hosts. I think
want an SDK for encoding live broadcast to Real format. Helix Producer
claims that it's the one, but the SDK is only in C++. The readme says there
is no ActiveX SDK.

I think RealSystem8 / Real Producer can do what I want, but I find no
mention of them on their website. It looks like they've been supplanted with
Helix Producer - which is of no use to me.
