Subject: [Helix-server-issues] Streaming with Documentum
Message-ID: <001c01c5b782$9f840cb0$4bfe0bc2@PCocotto1>
Hello,
I have a question concerning the Helix Streaming Server mecanism, how it
serves streaming to client:
I have installed Helix server along with Documentum Content Management
System.
When I request a video file through documentum, I receive a URL which is
composed of the streaming server adress + the address of the video file in
documentum streaming storage. For instance, if the file is stored in
documentum in following directory
c:\documentum\data\stream\streaming_storage_01\009a24f5\80\00\00, then it
generates following URL:
htpp://streamingserver:80/mymountpointforwindowsformat/009a24f5/80/00/00/str
eamingfile.wmv.
The client who receives this URL (which points to streaming server) launches
a viewer which open the media stream.
The streaming server interprets the adress, extracts the second part of the
URL (path on documentum host).
At this point I dont understand :
if the file is downloaded on streaming server host and then streamed to the
client (or download and streamed at the meantime)
OR
if the file is streamed from documentum streaming storage to client directly
without being download in Streaming server host (I guess this because I
cannot find in Real server directory where the file which has been streamed
is stored)
Thanks for your answers

Subject: [Helix-server-issues] 3gp files
Message-ID: <20050915072016.78579.qmail@web61216.mail.yahoo.com>
Hello,
A while ago I had posted a question regarding
streaming 3gp files. Is it possible to stream 3gp
files ? I added a couple of lines to hlxserver.cfg for
the MIME type and then I put the file under
/opt/helix/Content and when I try to access the URL I
get a message in the log file saying -"No handler for
3gp". How can I fix this error ?
Thanks,
Aswin.

Subject: [Helix-server-issues] Help needed with compiling live broadcast
archive
Message-ID:
Greetings-
I am running version 10. I had a broadcast last night, and the archive
failed to compile into a playable file. Currently it is split into the 3
raw files, which I assume are audio/video/multipass or something like
that. Is there a way to compose the .rm ? It seemed to stop doing anything
with them at about 6 this morning, which was 9 hours after the broadcast.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm in a bit of a jam without a compiled
video.
Thanks-
P

Hello,
Has anyone been able to confirm this is fixed (or not) in newer server
builds? Tom has confirmed this was an issue, but never got me an answer
before he left...
Thanks much,

Subject: [Helix-server-issues] Which version of Universal Server supports
kernel 2.6?
Message-ID: <4331A37F.9020504@kensystem.com>
Hello,
Does anyone know which Universal server version supports 2.6, or if none
yet, when will a release be available? From my own experience, plus
reading several others' mails, and also the site docs, the server on
kernel 2.6 doesn't seem to work or be officially supported yet..
I sure hope someone can tell me otherwise, as I really need some of the
2.6 kernel / lib features (stable cifs and improved 64 bit libs among
others).
Thanks in advance,
ken

Subject: [Helix-server-issues] Documentation of Appendix A: Interface List
in Helix Server and Client SDK not available
Message-ID: <5CD91656651C314194F28DFB1116ED8986DFAB@blr-m2-msg.wipro.com>
Hi,
I am going through the Helix Server and Client SDK at the site:
https://common.helixcommunity.org/nonav/2003/HCS_SDK_r5/htmfiles/intro.htm
I have to work on the interface provided by the Helix Server.
But the Appendix A: Interface List doesnt contain the list.
Is it available in some other URL?
Or is it not available?
Or is it not provided here?
Please inform regarding this.
Thanks in Advance,
Parimala
