[Helix-client-dev] Re: [Helix-server-dev] CR: alert for ipv6 rtspclient/netio checkins to HEAD
Tom Marshall tmarshall at helixcommunity.orgI will be checkin in the changes to the server after Liam does his checkin.
The changes are huge (several times larger than Liam's changes) so if anyone
wants a CR, please stop by my office or email me privately.
NOTE WELL: the server checkin WILL BREAK MANY THINGS. If you want a
functional codebase to work with until the new API has been stabilized,
please use CVS's -D option to "pin" your code. This should be available
under the build system's "Set Tag/Branch/Timestamp" menu.
The only things which have any hope of working are the following:
- RTSP streaming, all transports.
- MMS streaming, TCP and IPv4 UDP (IPv6 UDP doesn't seem to work).
- Java monitor.
The following are known to be broken and WILL NOT WORK until next week at
the soonest:
- Admin system.
- All cloaking.
Note the current cloaking scheme will probably not be supported in IPv6 mode
for quite some time, if at all. It will be the first guinea .. err .. user
of the backward compatibility code. The server and client teams are working
together on a new cloaking scheme to replace it.
The following may or may not work to varying degrees:
- PNA streaming.
- Legacy G2 broadcasting.
- Broadcast distribution.
PNA and encoplin are probably going away for the next major release. The
only effort put into updating them has been to avoid breaking the build.
I have no idea how the proxy will behave, I haven't even tried to run it.
